Sustainability
Sustainable design. It’s part of every project at Pathfinder. Pathfinder is a member of the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) and more than half of our technical staff are LEED Accredited Professionals, each having passed a rigorous examination in order to earn the accreditation. We are also a partner of the Environmental Protection Agency's Energy Star Program and, as a Labs 21 supporter, we introduce and utilize strategies for designing and constructing sustainable laboratories in new and existing facilities.
We continue to be at the forefront in transforming the way buildings are designed, balancing environmentally sound design with social and economic prosperity. The Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) rating system is a voluntary, consensus-based national standard for developing high-performance, sustainable buildings. Members of the U.S. Green Building Council representing all segments of the building industry developed LEED and continue to contribute to its evolution. LEED standards are currently available for new construction and renovation projects, existing building operations and commercial interiors projects. LEED was developed to:
- define "green building" by establishing a common standard of measurement
- promote integrated, whole-building design practices
- recognize environmental leadership in the building industry stimulate green competition
- raise consumer awareness of green building benefits
- transform the building market
At Pathfinder, our committment to sustainability is genuine and unwavering. It has distinguished us since our founding. Our clients appreciate the added value and simply, it's the right thing to do.
